About Us

Our journey started in Uganda, where the lush landscapes and rich volcanic soils create the perfect environment for coffee cultivation. Over the years, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with local farmers to bring the finest Ugandan coffee to the world. Now, we’re thrilled to share our passion with the U.S., connecting coffee lovers to the heart of Uganda.

Our Mission: Our mission is simple: to deliver premium, ethically sourced Ugandan coffee while empowering the communities behind every bean and making a real impact in the lives of the farmers who grow it. As a proud women-owned business, we’re dedicated to empowering women in coffee-growing regions, fostering sustainability, and ensuring that every sip you take supports a brighter future for the next generation of change makers.

Leadership: Zigoti Coffee was founded in 1984 by Rose Nakayenga Kato and her late husband, Enock Kisuule Kato, in the rural town of Zigoti, Central Uganda.

ZICOFE is proudly women-owned and operated. Under the visionary leadership of our founder and women leaders since 1984, ZICOFE stands as a testament to the power of women in business. Unwavering dedication to quality, sustainability, and community empowerment drives our mission and inspires every cup of coffee we produce. We take immense pride in uplifting women both on our team and in the Ugandan coffee farming communities.

Community Engagement

Empowering Women Farmers

As a women-owned company, we are passionate about empowering other women. Through targeted initiatives, training programs, and fair wages, we work to uplift women farmers in Uganda, enabling them to thrive in the coffee industry and beyond.

Farmer Support

Our success is built on the prosperity of our farmers. That’s why we prioritize investments in training programs, fair wages, and initiatives that empower women and youth in Uganda’s coffee-growing regions.

We actively support local farmers through various programs, including organic and JAS-certified coffee, fostering improved agricultural practices and expanded market opportunities.
